A totally new appearance for the Pacific Northwest's native vine maple, this cultivar boasts red new growth in the spring that turns to deep purple in the heat of the summer and holds until fall.

Outstanding glossy summer foliage changes to tints of yellow, red, and orange in the fall. Pacific Sunset® colors earlier and a little brighter than Norwegian Sunset.® Branch structure is a little finer textured and more spreading than Norwegian Sunset.

FLASHFIRE MAPLE

Selected from Caddo Mountain sugar maple seedlings, this tree has the brightest red fall color we have seen in a cultivar adapted to Southern heat. It features dark green summer foliage, better mildew resistance than other Caddo selections, strong growth, and brilliant red, early fall color.

VENUS DOGWOOD

Flower: Very large, 6", creamy white

DISEASE RESISTANCE: dogwood anthracnose and powdery mildew

This vigorous hybrid dogwood combines the huge flowers of the Pacific dogwood with the environmental tolerance of the Chinese dogwood. Bred by Elwin Orton of Rutgers University, Venus® has the largest bloom of any dogwood we have seen and is very floriferous. Little fruit, nearly sterile.

STARLIGHT DOGWOOD

Botanical Name: (Kousa X nuttallii) X Kousa 'Starlight'

Foliage: Deep green

Fall Color: Red

Flower: Large, creamy white

Fruit: 3/4", orange

Strong upright growth, clean dark green foliage, and large firm flowers give this hybrid dogwood great promise. The tree has shown resistance to mildew and anthracnose, holding healthy dark green foliage all summer. A Rutgers hybrid of the Pacific dogwood and the Chinese dogwood.

SLENDER SILHOUETTE SWEETGUM

Botanical Name: Liquidamber styraciflua

Zone: 5    Height: 60'    Spread: 8'    Shape: Tightly columnar

Foliage: Dark green

Fall Color: Orange to burgundy

This fastigiate tree grows quickly to form a tall, strikingly narrow column. One of the tightest and narrowest trees available, it is easier to grow than most. Those grown as hedges quickly become effective visual screens, while single specimens mature to become landscape exclamation points.

MALUS ROYAL RAINDROPS CRABAPPLE

Bright pinkish red flowers combine with deep purple cutleaf foliage to present a unique new crab. Deeply lobed leaves and upright form with good branching and density are inherited from its Golden Raindrops® parent. Nursery growth is outstanding, and it displays good to excellent resistance to the common diseases.

Fine textured, deeply cut foliage gives this unusual crab a delicate appearance. The form is elegant, with slender limbs spreading horizontally from upright branches.The abundant golden yellow fruit is truly tiny.

Dark green, fine textured foliage and dense, symmetrical structure create a tree of great uniformity. It is resistant to twig dieback that is common in seedling grown trees.
